November 2007

This Months news Letter starts off with a Personal note from a new employee ...

I have just completed my first month
working for Pets at Home, the time has flown by and I just stopped to think
back over the month and reflect on my new job and if any of us are lucky enough
in our lives to say “I love my job” then this is my time to
boastfully say those words
!

I feel very lucky to have been
giving the opportunity by Linda to be part of a team of people who share a
passion for dogs and to get as much fun out of our walks as the dogs do. It is
also a privilege to be trusted with such a precious family member. Caring for
other people’s dogs is quite different from looking after your own.

I have to thank Shannon for helping
me find my way around, get to know some of our dogs and for sharing  useful
tips on safety, fun and good places to walk (especially helpful as I was not
too familiar with some parts of town). I think she had a giggle my  first
day when I was tangled up in leashes with my very first two dogs, Pepper and Biscuit
who just wanted to play and play. I truly love the dogs I walk and have got to
know more about some breeds that I have not had contact with before. It has
certainly given me food for thought for when I have a new dog of my own (which
if Shannon has anything to do with it will be sooner rather than later!).

I have learned some valuable lessons too like – timing
bathroom breaks during a day of dog walking!

Gone are my “Monday morning blues” and that
“I just don’t feel like work today” feeling now it’s “where
shall I walk today” and “I wonder which of the lovely dogs will be
with me today’.

So thanks to Linda and the gang for making me feel so welcome
and thanks to all you dog owners for letting us share in the lives of your
pets.
